Kids like to watch kid shows and of course advertisers like to advertise things that will catch a kid's attention while watching these shows. One of these ads surely caught the attention of grandson Zackery... it was the group of Lego Monster
Fighter sets that really caught Zackery's interest one day. These sets have lots of 'monsters' and 'good guys' that fight each other over the rule of the 'moon stones' that each of the monsters possess. Grandaddy doesn't always get everything for the kiddos on a whim, but he has a weak spot when he sees something that the kiddos really really want. Zack had recently got a small space launcher Lego set as a present from a friend at Zack's 5th birthday party and enjoyed putting the pieces together to make a rocket, launch pad, and launch support vehicle. After we assembled this simple Lego space set according to the instructions he then took them apart and made his own version of what he envisioned they should be. Each day when Zack's Granny or Grandaddy picked Zackery up from day care we noticed that he was always playing with the Legos they have there for the kiddos, so I figured this mighty Monster set might be a good thing to get for Zackery some day. Zack did his research and would show Grandaddy videos on UTube daily about the ventures of these monster fighters and their quest for rule over the moon stones. Zack had a big interest in getting the “Vampyre Castle” set cuz it had vampires and flying bat creatures as well as 'the good guys' that would work to defeat the vampires and take possession of their moon stones. This would surely be a good thing to request up the chain and let Santa Clause help out with come Christmas time, but Zack's daily persistence wore through and Grandaddy agreed that we would venture to the store on the weekend to get Zackery one of these Lego Monster Castle sets. Saturday morning came and even before the sun came up, Zackery woke Grandaddy up and said it was time to go. Grandaddy let Zackery know that the store wouldn't be open for a couple of hours, so we had breakfast and eventually went on our way to get Zack his Lego Monster Fighter castle set. After assembling the castle, we of course had to make a few more trips to the store every so often to get some of the other sets so that the battle over the moon stones between the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys' could be completed in harmony. We assembled the few sets we initially got and played through the stories of the 'bad guys' and 'good guys' battling over the moon stones each evening before our bedtime. Zack sure enjoyed this set and has made a wish list of more Lego sets that he hopes Santa will bring him in the near future.
