Saturday morning, grandson Zackery woke me up and asked "Grandaddy, can we build a tree house today?" I wasn't sure where he got that idea from, but I told him "Maybe so. We'll see". Immediately after we got up, Zack went outside and showed me where he wanted his tree house to be. I looked in the shed and found a few old boards for Zack to play with kinda hoping he would just pretend to build a tree house and be satisfied.
Zackery played around by leaning some boards here and there against the tree and
showed me where he wanted to build a door. He then took a pen and wrote some names of the people that were "going to be in his
club". (If you weren't in the club, you couldn't come in the door.)
I sat in a chair eating breakfast watching Zack play around with
these boards, but when he showed me the sign he had made and asked me "Grandaddy when are you going to help me build the tree house?", I knew he was serious.
So we grabbed a hammer, some nails, and a saw and went to work.
