I'm a Hog, You're a Hog - A visit to the Hogg Plantation

March 2020

When I was a young boy, our family would occasionally take a visit to the Hogg Plantation in West Columbia, Texas.

I hadn't been there in many years. My grandson Zackery had a school history lesson where he learned about Governor Hogg and the plantation that he built during the 1800's.

My favorite part of the story is how Governor Hogg had two daughters. He named them "Ima" and "Ura". I wonder if those girls ever got teased for having those names.

Zackery was interested in seeing the plantation, so today we took a trip to West Columbia.
