We then hear someone call from the house next to us to ask us what the heck we're doing up here. I explain that I have some property way down below and that we're trying to get a good view of the river down below from way up here. The lady of the house tells us that the only spot to see the river from here is from inside her place on the porch and is kind enough to let us come in for a view. She tells us that she and her husband (Judy and Wayne Miller) came from Bastrop to live out here. She's a school teacher and her husband works in the lumber yard in town. She ensures us that her toothless dog "Betsy" is quite good at protecting her place and keeps Betsy at bay while letting me snap a few pictures from her porch of the river below.
