This was a time for a new moon and so it was pitch black and not a cloud in the sky. The stars were innumerable and the Milky Way just glowed across the sky. I used my camera to take this image of the stars, but of course my camera isn't going to be able to capture the true intensity of the amount of stars in the sky. Imagine about a billion more faint stars and the glow of the Milky Way with an occasional meteor darting across the sky and you might be able to picture a bit of this beauty in your mind.
