To light my camp fire, I decided to try a magnesium fire starter I picked up recently. The idea is to shave some magnesium off of this little block and then make a spark with a pocket knife to get it all started. I shaved some magnesium into this pile of tissue paper, but was quite skeptical about this actually working. I honestly thought I was wasting my time here.
