Before I head back homeward, I take a walk down the road and notice that a new gate has been put up by some folks that recently purchased the lot at the end of our road. This happens to be the access road that I and other land owners here use to get to our land on top of the bluff so I'm a bit worried when I see this. My new neighbor (Marsha) that now owns this lot also happens to be out this morning and shares with me the secret... they put this gate up to keep folks out that aren't land owners, but the lock on the chain doesn't actually lock the gate. It's just wrapped around to look like the gate is locked to deter folks from entering that are just wandering by. Land owners can still pass through to get to their land which is a big relief to me. I sure would be troubled if I couldn't get to my top land property.
