This is the first of many cars that I see once I get to the coast. I see many, but photographed very few. Those I see here along this highway aren't near any homes so I am sure they were occupied when the storm surge came in - either from onlookers coming to see the hurricane coming in or people trying to evacuate just a bit too late. Hopefully these occupants were able to flee on foot once their car stalled. The nearest city though that was high enough from the storm surge to be out of water is High Island about 20 miles north of here. I doubt whomever was in this vehicle is a survivor of Ike.
