Me and one of the early Russian cosmonaut candidates, Alexander Karmarinko. I had exchanged many emails with Alexander before my trip and it was a true joy to meet with him in person. I found out later that Mr. Karmarinko passed away a few years after this picture was taken. Through our email conversations before this meeting we had become long distance friends and I sure felt a sense of loss when I found out he had passed away.
