I took the opportunity to touch the solar panel behind the model while I was here. Not something I was supposed to do, but did it anyway. I can now boast that I touched a piece of the MIR space station that had orbited the earth and housed Russian cosmonauts and American astronauts paving the way for an integrated effort to house numerous nationalities in the International Space Station (ISS) currently in orbit around the earth as I write my little piece of history. I sure hope that we will continue in our efforts to have manned missions into space to expand upon the impossibilities we have already accomplished by having people live in low earth orbit and visit the moon. I am hopeful that we will continue this effort and once again visit the moon, eventually set foot on our sister planet Mars, and continue the effort of manned missions "into infinity and beyond".
