Matrioska dolls are a big seller in Russia. These are painted wooden dolls that open up with another wooden doll inside... which of course has another one inside of it and another and another. The number of dolls inside can vary. Some even open up to a rice sized doll at the very center. I pick up many of these to give out as gifts when I come back and a couple of "Chuberoshka's" for the grandkids. A Chuberoshka is apparently a mouse type creature on one of the children's TV shows here. You can spot one of these in this image to the far right if you look good enough.
