February 2005
The news said it was supposed to rain this weekend, but we decided to go to the river anyway. It was a light misty rain all day Saturday and Cyndi wasn't too
happy about it. She was cold and wet. We set up the canopy Cristy and Ann had given me for Christmas, and Cyndi stayed under it, but she had already got wet from the rain and was quite cold. I started a fire close to the canopy and went out for a
short hike around the area. I first went up to the spring water spigot on the bluff and ran a water hose down the hill to see if it was
feasible to get water down to the camp site. Water flowed through the hose just like the faucets in my backyard back home.
I then went various places to take some pictures for a computer program I had been writing to display all of these pictures I take with each
trip in relation to locations on a satellite image I got off of the internet. Most of the pictures taken in this set are taken around the land area and along the creek bed. I came back to the canopy after about an hour and Cyndi was still cold and wet, so we went on back to the
D' Rose Inn in town to dry off. We came back to the land in the morning and Sunday was a beautiful sunny day. Cyndi and I trekked up the hill near the road that turns onto our road. Apparently that land owner doesn't care too much for visitors because he shot at us through the trees once we got to the top of the hill. We decided it would be better to hike back on down.
Even with the rain on the first day and being shot at the next day, it was still a
wonderful trip.
