Another good memory the video brought me was another one of my early days as a programmer at NASA. John Glenn was the first astronaut to orbit the earth in 1962 and got the opportunity to fly again in the space shuttle in 1998. I had been writing software applications for the laptop computers used on the space shuttles and a part of my job was to train the astronauts how to use these applications. When John came around for his laptop computer training, some guy with a big camera followed him in and said he was recording the various things John did while preparing for this mission. A few weeks later I had a couple of folks tell me that they spotted me on CNN giving this lesson to John. I guess that was my 15 minutes of fame. |
