February 2014 - Rechecking The Lines
Back when I first bought my piece of river paradise, I paid for a surveyor to
come out and mark my property lines. I recently got a call from a real-estate
agent to tell me someone has purchased the lot next to mine. I'm also told that
back when I bought the property, the dividing line between the two properties
wasn't recorded in the county courthouse, so the owner of the property next to
mine had a surveyor come out to check the line again to file the record. I've
been asked to come out and sign off that the line is as I expect it to be, so
that's the purpose of this trip.
This will be my first trip of the year and I sure wish I could stay for a while,
but with my Mother's recent passing in late January, there are things I need to
take care of at the homestead, so I'm planning on making this one short to check
the property line and head back home. I do plan to make sure I take a moment to
breathe in the fresh river air for a moment or two though before my drive back
home.
